Volcano Erupting

Here is my moment in time writing about a volcano erupting.

Bang bang!  Steam hissing out. Lava erupts from the big hole. Flames fly out. Booooom!  Rocks roll the volcano down as fast as a cheetah. Smoke erupts high up into the sky. Red lava washed down the side of the volcano. Lightning flashes up high. Red rivers slither down the volcano.

Here is my writing about walking Te Ahuahu. Our focus was to use appropriate adjectives and powerful verbs. I think I did good at it!

“Yaaaaaaa!” I yelled, “the bus is here.” Shannon and I lined up at the school gate. The whole school rushed onto the bus.  It was quick to get there. When we arrived we ran into the shed. It smelt like cow poo.  We started to climb the giant mountain. My legs felt tired. It was such a long walk.
As soon as we got to the top someone came in a truck. Hone yelled out the karakia. Then he talked about the mountain. I looked at the view. I could see everything.  I could see the lake and hear lots of birds.  We ran down the little hill to a flat to have lunch. I was starving so I munched down my biscuits and chips.  After we had finished lunch we started  walking down Te Ahu Ahu to the bus. I hoped in the bus and fell asleep.
I really enjoyed the trip. Walking down the mountain was the best because it wasn’t tiring.
